Already choking on my pride, so there's no use crying about it
A Y O D E L E, R O Y A L Q U E E N O F N Y U M B A N I
I'm headed straight for the castle
They wanna make me their queen
And there's an old man sitting on the throne that's saying that I probably shouldn't be so mean
I'm headed straight for the castle
They've got the kingdom locked up
And there's an old man sitting on the throne that's saying I should probably keep my pretty mouth shut
LIONESS
3 YEARS
heterosexual
single
QUEEN
NYUMBANI
Appearance
Ayodele is a smaller-framed (yet still heavy) lioness taking on a more reddish-brown appearance than most. With the red pelt she got from her father, she also has multiple little darker red stripes covering her head, body and tail. Ayodele has somewhat small ears and grayish-blue eyes. She has a small nick over her nose, but it doesn't effect her very feminine and royal-like appearance.
Personality
With her sweet appearance, she also has the personality to fit the bill. Ayodele is a very sweet and caring lioness, along with a motherly nature, giving her a queen-like aura. She's very wise for her age, considering she had to grow up rather fast. She's usually very serious and straight to the point, but she also has a side that most don't usually get to see, which is a playful side. She can sometimes be seen playing with the cubs in her free time, though not very commonly.
Background
Ayodele was born alongside her brother Madalitso, as princess of Nyumbani and heir of queen Iedael. Though she didn't know who her father was, her mother would often speak of him as a brave warrior that died in battle just months before she gave birth.
Madalitso and Ayodele grew up alongside Iedael and Nyumbani as the prince and princess of the pride. Once they were about 5 or 6 months old, it was finally decided that instead of Ayodele, Madalitso would go on to become the next King of Nyumbani. The little lioness cub expected it, to say the least. She felt that her mothered favored her brother, and because of that she would mostly stay away from family bonding times and explore the territory.
When Ayodele was about a year old, she fell in love with a lion named Ejiro, though the only problem was that Ejiro was a lion that had been born a rogue, and wasn't living within the pride. She and Ejiro would often meet up in secret every now and again.
They weren't official "mates", but they both did share romantic feelings for each other, and would secretly meet together for the next year and a half without anyone finding out. They'd share stories and play games, and brainstorm dreams of running away when Ayodele was old enough to fend for herself, to start a pride of their own.
One afternoon while Ayodele was out with Ejiro, she felt something was.. wrong. They smelt blood. The two lions followed the scent, to find an empty battlefield. A battlefield full of nothing but death. There were bodies everywhere, both familiar and strange. The bodies of her friends and familar; Nyumbani, and their rivals, Badriya. They had gone to war while she was gone. Ayodele ran to her pride's camp, to find the same sights as the battlefield; blood and bodies. Everywhere. Where had the living members of her pride gone? Ayodele searched her territory until her paws hurt, no sign of any other lions. She eventually caught the scent of her mother and brother, a path that led out of the territory. They left without her?
Ayodele and Ejiro would follow the scent trail for many days, which turned into weeks, which turned into months. They were weak, and could barely hunt for themselves. Eventually, it was the end of the line for Ejiro. He could no longer walk, and Ayodele was too weak to hunt anything that was big enough to feed the both of them. Ejiro eventually died, leaving Ayodele alone to fend for herself and to find her pride alone. She left Ejiro's body, continued to follow any signs of Nyumbani, and eventually, about a month and a half later, she would come across a new place, somewhere she'd never even thought of before. It was called Hadithi ya Kale. She noticed there was something very familiar about this land, even though she'd never been there before. Then, she'd realize; the scent. It was her pride!
When she finally arrived at the camp, she noticed something was wrong. The aura of the pride had.. changed. It was usually so welcoming, so warm and bright. Now, it was dark, silent. Something else she'd noticed.. where was her mother? her brother? She didn't see them anywhere. Ayodele was confused, but before she could ask questions, her body gave in, and she collapsed in the camp's den, resting.
The next day, she learned of what had happened to both her mother and brother in the time that she'd been away from them. At first, she was shocked, and then angry, frustrated, and sad. She wanted to be there for them to say goodbye. Though she realized what her next duties as the princess of Nyumbani and heir of the Queen were, which were to take over the role as Queen and lead her pride successfully.
